How do I get my data or ask a privacy question?

For a privacy question or request involving your account data, use the live-chat widget on the Vinci web app’s /support page or email support@getsimpledirect.com. Include your account email and clearly describe the data or feature involved. Do not include passwords, full API keys, or other secrets. Vinci does not store conversations by default. Web-app history stays in IndexedDB on your device, while API prompts and responses are never logged. Vinci retains model, token, status, and timestamp metadata for API operations rather than message content. Data may be saved when you deliberately use certain features: - Memories are device-based by default, with an optional sync setting, and can be deleted under Account → Memory. - Custom instructions and skills are saved to your account. - Uploaded documents are account-scoped and deletable. - Public shares remain stored until you revoke them. - Synced conversations are opt-in, encrypted, Canada-based, and reversible. You can export billing usage as CSV from the Platform Usage page. The current guides do not document a general self-service account-data export, so contact support if you need something beyond that CSV. Account, synced, and file data is hosted in Montréal, Canada. Model inference runs on DeepInfra or Fireworks, depending on the class, using Canadian and US infrastructure. Zero Data Retention is enforced with both providers. Anonymous analytics is off by default, can be changed in Settings, and never includes message content.

How does device sync work?

How does device sync work? By default, your conversations stay on the device where you created them. They do not automatically appear when you sign in elsewhere. Turn on sync to access them everywhere. When you enable sync, your conversations and memories are stored encrypted on Canadian servers and automatically appear on every device where you sign in to Vinci: web, mobile, and Vinci Work. Turn sync on On the web (Vinci Chat): 1. Click your avatar in the top right and open Account & settings. 2. Go to the Data controls tab. 3. Find Sync and toggle it on. On your phone (Vinci Mobile): 1. Tap Settings at the bottom of the screen. 2. Under Data controls, find Sync across devices. 3. Tap the toggle to turn it on and confirm if prompted. On desktop (Vinci Work): 1. Press Cmd/Ctrl+K and search for "sync," or navigate to Preferences. 2. Find the sync option and enable it. What syncs When you turn on device sync: - Conversation history: chats from any device appear on your other devices. - Memories: facts you have told Vinci to remember, or that Vinci detected and saved, are available everywhere. - Custom instructions: standing instructions you set sync and apply on all devices. Chats from before you enabled sync remain on the device where they happened; sync applies going forward. Control sync Device sync is opt-in and can be turned off again. Future chats go back to your device only. Your local history stays on your device, while past synced conversations remain on the servers until you delete them manually. To sign in on another device, use the same email and password. If you use social sign-in with Google or GitHub, use the same method you used to create the account.
