Account Setup and Dashboard Access

Step 1: Sign Up for Crowd

  1. Visit the Crowd website

  2. Click on "Sign Up"

  3. Complete the registration process with your email and business details

  4. Verify your email address

  5. Complete your profile setup

Once logged in, you will see your main Crowd dashboard with different sections including:

Installing Crowd on Your Website

Prerequisites

Before you can use feedback widgets, you need to install Crowd on your website. This is a crucial first step that enables all Crowd features.

Installation Process

  1. Complete Installation: Follow the steps to start collecting insights

  2. Click Complete Installation: This will guide you through the setup process

  3. Get Your Tracking Code: Crowd will provide you with a unique tracking script

  4. Add to Your Website: Install the tracking code in your website's header section

  5. Verify Installation: Crowd will confirm when the installation is successful

Creating Your First Feedback Widget

Widget Creation Process

  1. Click "Create new widget" in the top right corner of the Widgets dashboard

  2. Choose Feedback Type: Select from available Templates:

    • CSAT (Customer Satisfaction)

    • Bug Report

    • Feature Request

    • Net Promoter Score

    • Custom feedback forms

  3. Configure Widget Settings:

    • Widget name and description

    • Display settings (when and where to show)

    • Styling and appearance options

    • Trigger conditions

  4. Customize Questions:

    • Rating scale configuration

    • Custom text prompts

    • Optional vs required fields

    • Thank you message.

  5. Set Display Rules:

    • Target specific pages or sections

    • User behavior triggers

    • Time based display rules

    • Device specific settings

  6. Preview and Test: Review your widget before making it live

  7. Save and Activate: Once satisfied, save your widget and set it to active status

Widget Management Dashboard

The main Widgets dashboard displays all your feedback widgets in a clean grid format:

Widget Information Cards

Each widget card shows:

  • Widget Name: Custom name you assigned

  • Status Badge: Current operational status

  • Creation Date: When the widget was created

  • Widget Icon: Visual representation of the feedback widget

Available Widget Statues you will see

  • Active: Currently live and collecting feedback from users

  • Inactive: Created but not currently collecting feedback

  • Draft: In development/configuration phase, not yet deployed

Widget Management Features

  • Search Bar: Find specific widgets quickly using the search functionality

  • Sorting Options: Organize widgets by "Most recently active" or other criteria

  • Bulk Actions: Manage multiple widgets simultaneously

  • Quick Edit: Access widget settings directly from the dashboard

What your Widget Status means

Active Widgets

  • Currently deployed on your website

  • Actively collecting user feedback

  • Receiving real time responses

  • Contributing to your analytics data

Inactive Widgets

  • Configured but temporarily disabled

  • Not showing to website visitors

  • Can be reactivated quickly when needed

  • Preserve all historical data

Draft Widgets

  • In configuration or testing phase

  • Not visible to end users

  • Allow for testing and refinement

  • Can be published when ready

Collecting User Feedback

How Widgets Appear to Users

Once active, your feedback widgets will:

  • Display according to your configured rules

  • Show rating options with emoji indicators

  • Present custom questions and prompts

  • Collect responses in real-time

User Interaction Flow

  1. Widget Display: Widget appears based on your trigger rules

  2. User Engagement: User sees the feedback prompt

  3. Response Collection: User provides rating and/or comments

  4. Data Capture: System records all response data and metadata

  5. Thank You Message: User sees confirmation of submission
