Building an order in the **Orders** tab is a different way to work than shopping the Shop: instead of browsing and adding to a cart, you put together **one order across any mix of suppliers — Suplery and external — in a single window**, then place it or save it as a draft. First, choose how you want to build it: - **Manual** — add the products and quantities yourself. - **Automatic** — let Suplery work out the order from how fast you use each product and the demand it expects over a period you choose. The rest of this article covers a **manual** order; automated orders are summarized at the end. ## Add products to your order Adding products opens a picker where you **filter**, **search**, or **scan** to find what you need, set a **quantity**, and add it. Everything you add is **appended to whatever's already in your order**, so you can keep adding in as many rounds as you like. You can pull products from three places: - **Your inventory** — reorder what you already carry. - **The Suplery shop** — products from suppliers on Suplery. - **The full catalog ("All")** — everything Suplery knows, including products you don't stock yet. 💡 Two quick ways to fill an order: **scan your empties** with the [Barcode scanner](https://app.chatwoot.com/hc/for-beauty-businesses/articles/16036323-10-barcode-scanner) to reorder in minutes, or switch the source to **"All"** to order something new you've never carried before. ## Your order, grouped by supplier Because each supplier becomes its own order, everything you add is **grouped by supplier**: - **Suplery suppliers** — the supplier is chosen for you and the **price is filled from the catalog**. - **External suppliers** — Suplery fills in the **supplier and price you used last time** for that product, so repeat purchases are quick. ## Change a product's supplier or price Click a product in your order to open its **drawer**, where you can: - **Change** the supplier, or **remove** it — for example, you're buying it from someone else this time. - **Change or delete the price** for that product. Reassigning the supplier **moves the product into that supplier's group**. 💡 Carry a product that two of your suppliers sell? Open its drawer and pick whichever one you're ordering from now — the product hops into that supplier's group automatically. ## Add order details for an external supplier Each **external supplier** has a summary box on the right of its block. Open **Add order detail** there to fill in: - The **order number** (Suplery generates one if you leave it blank) and the **order date** — today by default, but you can backdate a past purchase or post-date one that's on the way. These two are set together. - A **discount**, **delivery cost**, and **tax**. 💡 **Make the total match your receipt.** External suppliers don't report shipping, tax, or discounts to Suplery, so add them here — it keeps your recorded spend and your inventory value accurate. (Suplery suppliers handle all of this automatically.) ## Place your order — or save it as a draft When your order's ready, **tick the suppliers you want to place** — you don't have to place them all at once. Then, per supplier: - **Suplery suppliers** — choose a **payment method** and a **delivery address**, the same as at checkout. (As with any Suplery order, you'll need a US card and a license in your delivery state — see [Order from the Shop](https://app.chatwoot.com/hc/for-beauty-businesses/articles/16036508-11-order-from-the-shop).) - **External suppliers** — you can **email the order straight to the supplier**. If the supplier has no email yet, click **add email** in the supplier block's header to open their drawer and add one. Finally, **Save draft** or **Place**. Either way, Suplery creates a **separate order for each supplier**. 💡 Save a **draft** when you're planning ahead or waiting on approval, then come back to place it when you're ready. ## Work with a draft Your drafts live in the **Orders** tab. Open one to keep editing — add or remove products, change quantities, suppliers, prices, or an external supplier's order details — then **place** it, or delete it if you've changed your mind. ## After you place Each supplier's order appears in the **Orders** tab, one per supplier. 💡 A placed order also shows up in each product's **stock history**, marked **Upcoming**, so you can see what's on the way before it arrives. Rather than building the order again, you can **repeat one you've already placed**. From a past order in your **Orders** tab, choose to repeat it, and the builder opens **pre-filled with the same products** — adjust anything you need (quantities, suppliers, prices), then place it as usual. It's handy for routine restocks you don't keep on a schedule: last month's order becomes this month's in a couple of clicks. ## Automated orders Rather than adding products by hand, Suplery can **build the order for you** from how quickly you use each product and the demand it expects over a period you choose. You then review and adjust the suggested order — change quantities, suppliers, or prices — exactly like a manual one before placing.
